I Give a Year – A Review

CoupleDumb is often asked to review movies and the lion’s share of those are usually romantic comedies or love stories. We have seen some that are forgettable and occasionally we get a surprise that leaves us smiling the rest of the evening. “I Give a Year” which is being released on DVD October 22, 2013. The film is kind of a reverse romantic comedy. Let us explain.

Spoiler: It lasted a year

The film starts out like most romantic comedies, the lovers meet and there are fireworks….literally. Then there is a cute courtship montage followed by a wedding. If the wedding scene doesn’t start you laughing you have never been on the altar saying “I do”. The movie takes you through the tumultuous first year of a couples married life with some very funny twists and turns. It’s like nothing you have ever seen!

We strongly recommend checking out this movie and it would be a great film to watch with a bunch a friends. Rose Byrne, Rafe Spall, Anna Faris and Simon Baker round out the top billing but you have to watch it for Minnie Driver who is flawless and Steven Merchant who is probably the most inappropriate person ever on film.
