50 Things I have learned in 50 years – Day 10
Over the next 50 days, I will be going over the 50 things that I have learned to make my life awesome. I know people are always doing these but so few of them have a PhD and 25+ years of experience working with human beings on what they want and changing the things they don’t like. Here is my list which will culminate on my 50th birthday.
I know you’re thinking, ‘these seem awfully tame for CoupleDumb’. Which brings me to #10.
Act your age….your mental age, not physical.
Yes, there are more aches and pains. Yes, I get sore if I do a lot. However, that does not stop me from doing what I want. I may be getting physically older but my mind is on fire! I refuse to go gentle into that good night and I realize that I was so much older before than I am now.
When we made the great decision to stop acting our age, we started having fun. No, we do not go to raves and we do not wear all the hep styles of the day. We decided to not let fear fill our lives. Fear is the number one cause of getting older. We become fearful of everything. Anything new is scary. Instead of settling down, we have decided to untether ourselves from stuff and live!
So if you find out that we died, it was probably from being fearless and having sex while parachuting.
Come back for the next 40 days and see what else I have learned.
