WTF of the Week- Pat Robertson

The WTF of the Week is being taken over by stupid bigots. 3 weeks and counting. Thank you for the material!

Pat Robertson, the host of the 700 Club and founder of the Christian Coalition, decided to clue us sheep into what would happen if we legalized same sex marriage. He stated that the ‘ultimate conclusion’ was that if we legalized same sex marriage then polygamy, bestiality and pedophilia were not far behind.

With this new knowledge, CoupleDumb is now rethinking their position on Same Sex Marriage. We have been ill-advised and short sighted at supporting this. Little did we know that allowing two loving adults to make a choice to commit to each other legally and enjoy the same rights as heterosexual couples (somewhere around 1100 rights we enjoy) would lead to such a slippery slope. My God, what if?

Pat, or should we call you Marion which is your real name (quite girly, don’t you think?), we appreciate the heads up. I am sure you and Carrie Prejean and all the Mormons can now sit back and watch the nation wipe their brow while whistling and thinking ‘We almost stepped in that one. Damn you Satan!’

But seriously, Marion, WTF!! Polygamy was outlawed because of the Bible? Have you read that book? As for bestiality and Pedophilia, they are wrong because they are WRONG! Not because the Bible said so. The Bible was OK with nailing a dude to a cross and we don’t do that today do we? Stop using the Bible as a buffet by picking and choosing what agrees with your homophobic opinions. Jesus said, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.’ (Matthew 22:37-40) So shut the fuck up old man and follow the Lord.

Oh, just one more question. What about necrophilia? Does gay marriage lead to that too?

Hi guys! One of the best comebacks I’ve heard in my years at Syracuse University came from an anthropology professor in response to a student’s question implying that gays should not be allowed to adopt children so as to protect them from becoming gay. This, of course, clearly illustrates much of the opposition to gay marriage as well. The professor simply made the point that all gay people she knew at the time were raised in a straight household. The student said nothing else which I hope meant he understood the implication of the professor’s point. However, I would not be surprised if it didn’t since rational thought does not compete too well with fire, brimstone, and eternal sadness and pain.

And if you need a little more ammunition to support the wonderful beacon of wisdom and morality that is the bible, here’s a little passage from Genesis describing what took place between Lot and his daughter’s after the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

And the elder said to the younger “Our father is old, and there is no man left on the earth, to come in unto us after the manner of the whole earth. Come, let us make him drunk with wine, and let us lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.” And they made their father drink wine that night: and the elder went in and lay with her father: but he perceived not neither when his daughter lay down, nor when she rose up. And the next day the elder said to the younger: “Behold I lay last night with my father, let us make him drink wine also to night, and thou shalt lie with him, that we may save seed of our father.” They made their father drink wine that night also, and the younger daughter went in, and lay with him: and neither then did he perceive when she lay down, nor when she rose up. So the two daughters of Lot were with child by their father. [Genesis 19:31-36]

Lovely ain’t it! The two daughters had sex, or more exactly, raped their father shortly after they had fled from Sodom and Gomorrah which was destroyed by God for the immorality of the people in those two cities. God, of course, had no objections to this since nine months later the daughters gave birth to two sons and did not kill or curse anyone as a result.

Now some people may argue that the daughters did it because they believed there were no other men on Earth. Even if that were true, the all powerful, mighty, bound by nothing God could have intervened and offered something other than incest. After all, he was not shy about being more directly involved in people’s lives back then. If incest was the best he could come up with, I am not impressed. He needs some serious fucking therapy! That is my two cents for today, and I think I will add this rant to my Facebook notes!

    Later guys!!!
