Pioneer Woman

I love a good story! I really love a good love story! ‘Pioneer Woman: From High Heels to Tractor Wheels’, is a little of both. However, since Ree Drummond is a living breathing person who is a big deal in the blogging world, I will refrain, with respect, any psychotherapeutic analysis of the beginnings of her relationship. Oh, who am I kidding! ‘Pioneer Woman’ does not disappoint in her first novel. Like her blog and cookbooks, she has a great, casual writing style that draws you into her story. The book was funny and poignant.

This lovely memoir has a very important lesson. At first, as a city woman, I would think that Marlboro Man would be removed from his emotions or distant. What I found was the opposite and, for the most part, he was the emotional core to the relationship. However, it was the city girl, with all her fancy ways, who was the one with emotional hang-ups who had also learned the games of relationship. Luckily, for Ree Drummond, the games were lost on Marlboro Man.

‘Pioneer Woman: From High Heels to Tractor Wheels’ is a delightful story of love and love in the real world. Sure, it ended after only the first year of marriage but the reader gets the idea that the foundation for a long lasting love affair was solid.

Collective Bias compensated me for my time. As always, all opinions expressed by CoupleDumb are our own. However, if Ree Drummond, creator of the incredible website Pioneer Woman  comes over and cooks for us (or invites us over, that’s cool too), we would gladly say whatever she wants.
