Iams Home 4 the Holidays

We are dog people. Our doggies have always been part of our family. We currently have two dogs. The oldest, Pecan, a very ugly and beautiful Brussels Griffon, was a pound rescue. Her story is this dramatic last second reprieve from being put down after two stays of execution. She was destined to be ours and she is the best doggy. Our young guy is Bones who was born in our home when we rescued his Mom from near death wandering the streets in farm country. We nursed her back to health and found out she was pregnant and we were going to be grandparents. We had all the pups and the Mommy adopted a few months later but kept Bones because, well, he was just so darn cute.

We know puppies and kittens are wonderful but have you considered adopting? With pet homelessness on the rise, we need to work together more than ever to help homeless pets. This year, Iams Home 4 the Holidays has set a goal to save the lives of 1.5 million orphaned pets. Iams Home 4 the Holidays partners with organizations dedicated to finding homes for pets. Last year, this campaign found homes for over 1.3 million pets. This year, they need your help to find homes for 1.5 million orphaned pets.

With the help of over 3500 partner animal organizations, from 21 countries around the world, we can save the lives of so many furry angels.

How do you get involved? Go to the Iams Facebook page and find a participating shelter in your area. Other important tips for new parents can be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/iams or on IamsHome4the Holidays.com. While on the Facebook site, check out Bags for Bowls Program. This year Iams is aiming to give 5 million meals to homeless animals. One way you can help donate a meal to a pet is to follow our Adoption Angel’s stories on Facebook.com/Iams and “LIKE” photos, videos and posts. For every like they receive, Iams will donate a meal to a homeless animal.

There are 8 million homeless pets in the U.S. alone. Let’s all help to make the world a little better and more fuzzy together. Don’t buy. Adopt!
