Biscayne Restaurant

We traveled 2000 miles to go from one Biscayne to another but the latter is a world-class restaurant in the Tropicana Hotel. We decided to write the restaurant review separately from the rest because we are foodies and we have so much to rave about. We both cook. We both love food. We love putting it together, experimenting with flavors, and, of course, eating it.

GROW With Herbs

We don’t do this often but sometimes something wonderful comes along and we have to sing (or write) its praises. Recently, our youngest went on his first field trip, to a ‘garden‘. The teachers explained it was a garden that was special. We decided to tag along to see our teeny one on his first fieldtrip. However, what we found was something much more than a garden. It was a fully working farm in the middle of an industrial park.

Tropicana Hotel

As native Angelinos, we know Las Vegas. Sin City was our go-to place for a long weekend vacation from home. And we know the Tropicana hotel or, at least, we thought that we did. What we were remembering was the hotel from Vegas’ seedy past; dark colors, dingy, smoky and uninviting. So when the Tropicana hotel offered us a room, we said yes with a little worry in our voice. Review of Sugarbabe by Holly Hill

When I was in college back in the early 80s, I had a work-study job that was very boring. The only interesting part of the experience was my boss. Let’s call her Donna. Her penmanship was exquisite and she did her job with an impressive compulsiveness that garnered her much praise at the university.

Kung Zhu!

Tuesday is dedicated to the little ones. Soon, we will have a whole dedicated site to wrangling the little ones or to use the common vernacular ‘Parenting’. Since society allows anyone to call themselves experts, we have decided to use the term über-experts. As über-experts, we have decided to share our parental wisdom to the masses. So consider this a double post really. We will talk about some very cool toys and then introduce a very cool site that is debuting on July 26th! Oh, and if you are really good, we will tell you how to win 3 of these toys plus accessories!

Online education

As the parents of a high school student with aspirations, which include college and graduate school, we have spent a great deal of time with our daughter discussing and researching educational offerings. Our daughter is lucky that not only are both her parents college graduates, we also had the privilege of being teachers and know a thing or two about working the system. In our daughter’s case, she has no interest in attending school in Florida where we live which puts a bit of a hitch in her plans. Most states create high school curriculums that are ultimately accepted by their universities. In other words, if you are able to go through high school successfully, you should be able to attend a state university.
