50 Things I have learned in 50 years – Day 42
We are on the final countdown to my 50th birthday! I guess you can say that as I get closer to the day I am overwhelmed by a mix of feelings- excitement, sadness and bit of nausea. I am sharing the lessons I have learned during my 50 years on earth.
I know you’re thinking, ‘What about my life?’ Which brings me to #42
Go big or go home!
People say this all the time and I think it loses some of its meaning when people use it to describe stupid behavior. This means to me that you are the master of your destiny and you can either live a big life filled with experiences that make you grow as a human being or you can live your life as if it is a waiting room, shuffling through old editions of Highlights, before you are called home.
Me? I want the big life. I want to travel. I want to push myself. I want to get uncomfortable. I want to maximize my experience. By the time I am ready to be called home, I wish to be diving first into a bioluminescent pool in a foreign country. I can see the headlines now, ‘107 year old adventurer dies from a freaky sex maneuver! People say that she died doing what and whom she loved.’
Come back for the next 8 days and see what else I have learned.
